Meet the Team

  • Co-Founder & Executive Director

    Co-founder and Executive Director, Cynthia Scannell, played an instrumental role in shaping the foundation's core mission and innovative initiatives.

    Before taking on her current leadership role, she served as a mentor and case manager at The O'Connor House, a 501(c)(3) organization that offers a nurturing and supportive home environment to single, pregnant, and homeless women, enabling them to make positive strides in their lives. She also served in the children's ministry at Dalton's Pantry, a vital food pantry and resource center serving underprivileged families in the Indianapolis area.

    Scannell’s faith and dedication to uplifting others led her to serve as a co-leader for a Christian life group and volunteer as a missionary in impoverished areas of South Dakota and Nicaragua. In these roles, she provided invaluable support and assistance to those in need, making a lasting impact on the communities she served.

    Prior to her extensive philanthropic endeavors, Scannell brought her skills and talents to the business world, managing a small enterprise for over a decade. She also lent her expertise to the marketing and medical fields, showcasing her versatility and commitment to making a difference in various aspects of life.

  • Program Director

    Jennifer Dotzert is the Program Manager for the RJS Foundation, managing partnerships and program initiatives within the Foundation’s portfolio.

    She completed her undergraduate work at Indiana State University with a B.S. in Special Education and a minor in Dance, and later completed her Masters program in Social Work through Indiana University.

    Dotzert previously taught special education at the middle school level for over 16 years with Carmel Clay Schools in Carmel, Indiana. She teaches dance classes in addition to her work with the RJS Foundation.

    Grounded by a passion for serving others, Dotzert has served globally in Nicaragua, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Uganda, El Salvador and India and assists with her church’s Global Outreach team. She has also served with the Food Rescue Program, various women’s ministries, assists with growth groups and volunteers at a community center in Indianapolis. She thrives on connecting people and building healthy relationships to create a positive impact.

  • Program Assistant

    Angel Richardson the Program Assistant for the RJS Foundation. With over three decades of experience in the technology industry, she has consistently embraced innovation, adaptability and creativity. Her journey has taken her from the cutting-edge world of technology to the nurturing environment of a Montessori preschool,where she currently serves as an art and music teacher.

    Beyond the classroom, she is an enthusiastic volunteer, lending her time and expertise to organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Agape Therapeutic Riding Center, Indiana’s chapter of Grit & Grace Nation and a community center in downtown Indianapolis. These experiences have allowed her to connect with her community and make a meaningful impact on the lives of others.

    Angel has also had the privilege of serving in Haiti and the Dominican Republic, contributing to humanitarian efforts and witnessing the resilience of those facing challenging circumstances. Angel’s journey from the technology industry to the world of education and volunteering reflects her deep-rooted desire to serve others and make a positive difference in the world.
